Together with Lower Kachura Lake , it is a major tourist attraction in Skardu. The mountain lake has pure, transparent water and is 70 m deep at its deepest point. In summer the water temperature reaches around 15 ° C and in winter it freezes over completely. The Indus , which flows past a few meters away and is lower down, is not a tributary of the lake.
