A new Dutch mill was built in 1848 by Brünn Ehlers. From 1920 the mill was operated by the Behrens & Schröder company. The mill has been a listed building since 1953. In 1964 it was donated to the city of Bremen and then restored. In 1972 the Focke Museum set up a mill department here.

The Oberneulander mill is station 43 on the Lower Saxony mill road and the landmark of the Oberneuland district. The repaired mill has been open to the public as a branch of the Bremen State Museum for Art and Cultural History since 1972 . In addition to the mill technology, the permanent exhibition From Grain to Bread can be visited.

The Oberneulander mill is a windmill of the gallery Dutch type with a three-storey, octagonal substructure made of plastered masonry with load-bearing corner pilaster strips . Like the hood, the half-timbered mill body is covered with Reith . The wind direction tracking of the four venetian blinds is done automatically by a compass rose. The mill is fully operational.
