The home of Theodor Dietrich von Hutten stood in the upper road 37 in the Westphalian county town Düren .

The patrician house, which is decorated with a rich volute gable and known as the "Huttensche Haus", was completely destroyed in the bombing of Düren on November 16, 1944 .

In terms of art history, the house, which housed the shops of Otto Scharrenbroich and Michael Neff on the ground floor before it was destroyed in 1944 , is one of the most remarkable civil buildings in Düren's old town.

The photo shown from the 1930s gives a good idea of its appearance at the time. However, this photo does not show the condition of 1572, when Theodor von der Hutten had been awarded the house by the donation of the Düren aldermen Adam von Birgel for his extraordinary efforts for the city of Düren, but the one after the many later changes and after or a new building from 1598, which von der Hutten arranged for himself that year. It is unclear whether the house was built in 1572 or whether it existed before. The fact that the well-known and well-known historian Jacobus Polius also mentions the building in his writings should only be noted in passing. A chimney frieze with the von der Hutten marriage coat of arms, which was then in the house at Oberstrasse 37, is still in the archive of the Leopold Hoesch Museum today .
