history

Occvlta was founded in 2004. Since then the band has gained increasing popularity through various international appearances and a few demo and split releases.

With the album Night Without End , released in 2017 via Dying Victims Productions as CD and Electric Assault Records as LP , the band also experienced increased reception. Magazines like the Decibel and Rock Hard dealt with Occvulta. In his review of the demo tape We Command the Wolves for Rock Hard, Jakob Kranz praised them as “absolutely authentic Darkthrone - ' Panzerfaust ' with brutal nihilistic passion”. The release of the album was followed by other international concerts, including a tour with Aura Noir and various festival appearances. Among other things, the 2018 Doom over Leipzig in Leipzig , the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg and the Chaos Descends Festival in Crispendorf and 2019 when muscle Rock Festival in Alvesta .

style

Occvlta's music is classified as Black Doom and Black Metal . For Decibel Magazine, the game form presented by the group is described as a “starved” and “infectious” variety of an “eternally doomed black metal”. Reviewers as well as band members point to a music "between Black and Doom" that "can certainly be compared with '84 Celtic Frost and '95 Darkthrone". Early Venom , Hellhammer and Posessed are cited as further comparables . Accordingly, the style of the band is associated with those performers who are considered formative for Black Metal.
