OceanLab is a British-Finnish vocal trance project from London , consisting of the singer Justine Suissa and the three members of Above & Beyond : Jono Grant , Paavo Siljamäki and Tony McGuinness .

Band history

In 1999 Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamäki founded the music label Anjunabeats together . A year later, Tony McGuinness approached the producer duo and the three of them founded the project Above & Beyond . In the same year, the trio founded the OceanLab project together with singer Justine Suissa. Her first single "Clear Blue Water" was released in 2001 by Captivating Sounds , a sub-label of Armada Music , and was remixed by Ferry Corsten , among others . The two following singles “Sky Falls Down” and “Beautiful Together” were also remixed by well-known trance producers (including Armin van Buuren and Signum ). These remixes also helped the group quickly become very popular. However, their breakthrough came with their fourth single, "Satellite", which was released in 2004 and reached number 19 in the British single charts .

Eventually the four decided to start a studio album. Due to other projects that were still in the works, it took almost two years to finish their debut album. In July 2008 it was released under the name Sirens of the Sea . A year later, a remix version of the album was released, which contained both previously released and new remixes on two CDs.

Very popular remixes of the newer productions have also appeared. In particular, the Gareth Emery remix of “Lonely Girl” became a big club hit. In 2010 Daniel Kandi combined the vocals of OceanLabs "If I Could Fly" with the Alex MORPH remix of Mike Shiver's single "On the Surface" and released a mashup version called "If I Could Fly on the Surface".
