After the two studio owners Harry and Crofts had already worked together for a number of years, they formed the dance band Oceanic in Liverpool in the early 1990s . With the single Insanity in August 1991 the first and biggest hit, which made it to number 3 in the English charts . The song is among the top five best-selling singles in the UK in 1991. A quarter of a year later, the single Wicked Love rose to number 25 on the UK charts.

The trio continued successfully in 1992. The third chart single, Controlling Me , climbed into the UK Top 20 in June and reached number 14. Shortly afterwards, in July of that year, That Album by Oceanic , the band's only album , made it to the UK charts, but stayed there only two weeks and didn't get past 49th place.

With the release of Ignorance , a collaboration with the Liverpool singer-songwriter Siobhan Maher, the project entered the UK charts for the last time, but only for one week at number 72. The last single, Celebration , was ignored in 1993. The Oceanic project was then terminated.
