Ochsenbruch (Templin waters)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ochsenbruch south of the Gotts See is the source of the Templin waters flowing out of this lake . Historically and administratively it belongs to the Uckermark , but is also assigned to the Schorfheide and is part of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve . The shallow trough extending from the lake to the south and east is over 0.7 km² in size. Its outline largely corresponds to the 60-meter contour line. It is cut through by the railway line from Templin to Eberswalde . The smaller part to the south of the railway is drained through the deeply cut Ochsenbrucher Graben to the Lübelowsee in the catchment area of the Lübbeesee . The outflow of the more than 0.6 km² large northern part into the Gotts See has been forced since the second half of the 20th century by a pumping station of the agricultural landowner. The water also runs into the Gotts See when the pumping station is out of order. There is an overflow ditch from the northern to the southern part, but it only seldom promotes. Both areas are used as grassland.
