Odón Alonso
Odón Alonso Ordás (born February 28, 1925 in La Bañeza , Province of León , † February 21, 2011 in Madrid ) was a Spanish conductor and occasional composer of film music .
Alonso studied in Madrid, Siena, Salzburg and Vienna. His first duties as a conductor were from 1952 to 1956 in the management of the orchestra and choir of the Spanish national radio. In 1960 he took over the Madrid Philharmonic Orchestra, with which he performed numerous demanding works; from 1968 to 1984 he directed the Spanish Radio Symphony Orchestra ("Orquesta Sinfónica de Radio Televisión Española"). From 1986 to 1994 he conducted the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.
As a composer, he was responsible for some film scores.
