content

In 1848, Cesar de Echague, a dandy pretender, returned to California from the east of the continent. He finds conditions that suppress his Mexican compatriots and only pursue American interests. A rebellion carried out by the inhabitants was bloodily put down; the leaders sent to jail. During the day, César remains the gentleman he gives to high society; At night, however, he becomes a black-masked bandit who takes the side of the oppressed and, just like Zorro, leads the rebels towards their goal: fighting and defeating the oppressors, embodied by the officer of the Northern States, Captain Pots.

criticism

"Remarkably photographed adventure film with overly clear 'Zorro' borrowings about a Californian freedom fighter who brings an occupation officer from the northern states to his knees."

Ulrich P. Bruckner found this early European western “unimpressive”.
