The Odawara Blueway Bridge ( Japanese 小田原 ブ ル ー ウ ェ イ ブ リ ッ ジ ), often simply called Odawara Bridge in European literature , is a road bridge in the city of Odawara in Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan .
The two-lane bridge leads the Seishō Bypass (E 84) of the Ishibashi branch line of National Road 1 at a height of 20 m over the entrance to the fishing port. The Seishō Bypass follows the coastline as an elevated road or road elevated above the bank.
The bridge is often referred to as the world's first extradosed bridge , even though it had precursors. In any case, it was the first of the many extradosed bridges built especially in Japan.
description
The 270 m long and 13 m wide bridge has three openings with spans of 73.3 + 122 + 73.3 m. Long ramp bridges connect on both sides in order to reach the necessary height above the port entrance.
The girder of the carriageway is a prestressed concrete - box girder with a height of 2.2 to 3.5 m, which occupies the entire width of the bridge and is slightly haunched at the pylons . The reinforced concrete pylons protrude over the road surface by 10.5 m or 1/12 of the central span, while this value is usually 1/5 for cable-stayed bridges .
Six stay cables each leave the middle fifth of the central span free. In order to prevent vibrations, the stay cables are equipped with dampers .
The bridge, designed and built by Sumitomo Construction Co. and Kajima Corporation, was completed in 1994.
