Ode to My Family is a song released in late 1994 that was composed and written by Dolores O'Riordan and Noel Hogan and performed by the Irish band The Cranberries .

The song appeared on the album " No Need to Argue ". In November 1994 it was released as the second single from this album, making it the fourth single from the Cranberries overall. The song has a total length of about 4:30 minutes. Stephen Street was the producer. The famous music video director Sam Bayer directed all single releases of the album “No need to argue”, including this track . The video is in black and white and shows various protagonists as family members in addition to the band.

The song is composed in 4/4 time and in D major. Like almost every Cranberries piece, this song was sung in two parts by Dolores O'Riordan. The song has two stanzas that start with the same word, which is typical of the band's songwriting.

In Germany, the song stayed in the charts for 17 weeks and rose to number 29.
