Helena Wheeler Ochmańska (* 17th October 1937 in Mikuszowice ) is a former Polish luger .

Helena Macher started for Start Bielsko-Biała from 1956 to 1960 and for GKS Katowice from 1961 to 1968 . She started for the first time in 1958 in Krynica-Zdrój at the Luge World Championships and finished 17th, in 1963 she finished 10th in Imst . 1964 she took part in Innsbruck for the first time at the Winter Olympic Games and finished eighth. At the European Luge Championships in 1967 in Königssee , she won the bronze medal behind local heroes Christa Schmuck and Angelika Dünhaupt . Macher also took part in the world championships of the year . Erica Lechner pushed herself in front of these two at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . As a result, Macher, in fourth place, missed a medal by almost half a second. However, she benefited from the disqualification of the East German drivers Anna-Maria Müller , Ortrun Enderlein and Angela Knösel , who were accused by a Polish referee of heating their runners.
