Erica Lechner (born May 28, 1947 in Meransen , South Tyrol ) is a former Italian luge athlete .

The South Tyrolean won the gold medal in tobogganing at the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble . She benefited from the disqualification of the tobogganists Anna-Maria Müller and Ortrun Enderlein , both of whom had been lying in front of her. The GDR female tobogganists were accused of heating their runners before the start, which did not comply with the rules.

In 1971 in Imst she also won the European Championship and came second at the World Championships in Olang . After her sports career, she became a hotelier and ran the Hotel Erika in Meransen until a few years ago.
