Angela Höhler-Knösel (born August 29, 1949 in Mühlhausen ) is a former German luge athlete .

Angela Knösel started for the SC Tractor Oberwiesenthal . She had her national and international breakthrough in 1968 when she came second behind Ortrun Enderlein at the GDR championships on the Spießbergbahn in Friedrichroda and qualified for the Winter Olympics in Grenoble . Like Enderlein and Anna-Maria Müller , Knösel was disqualified from the promising fourth place after three runs for allegedly unauthorized heating of the runners. In 1969 she was runner-up behind Müller at the GDR championships, and in 1970 she won the title. In addition, she was second behind Müller in Hammarstrand at the European Luge Championships in 1970 and thus won the silver medal. She won this medal the following year in Imst behind Erika Lechner . In 1972 she won another bronze medal at GDR championships behind Ute Rührold and Müller, now as Angela Höhler-Knösel.
