Odile Caradec

Odile Caradec (born February 15, 1925 in Brest , † September 22, 2021 ) was a French poet .

Life

Odile Caradec graduated from the Abitur school in Quimper . After the end of the war , she lived in Germany for four years, in Freiburg im Breisgau and Offenburg , and since then in Poitiers . Twenty-five volumes of poetry by Odile Caradec have been published, four of which are bilingual in Germany. The translation of the poems into German was done by Rüdiger Fischer. Odile Caradec initially oriented himself towards French surrealism , but later broke away from it and found his own archaic-magical-humorous language. Many of her books were congenially illustrated by Claudine Goux. For the volume Citron rouge , published by Dé bleu in 1999she received the Charles Vildrac Prize from the Société des gens de lettres (SGDL).
