Odo Rumpf (born April 3, 1961 in Leverkusen ) is a German sculptor who works in Cologne .

Life

After completing his mechanical engineering studies at RWTH Aachen University , the artist completed two-year art studies with Thomas Virnich and has been a full-time artist since 1991.

Odo Rumpf creates sculptures from industrial finds, large kinetic objects, room installations and media sculptures.

He calls the large area of ​​his studio, which he set up on a fallow plot of land in Neuehrenfeld between train tracks, " Free State of Odonia". Other international artists also work there. Exhibitions, festivals (including the robotic show "Robodonia") and commercial music and dance events take place on the site, which is decorated with metal sculptures . He also makes the area, along with the beer garden, available for external events.
