The Odra is a river in central Croatia . Its length is 83 km, its catchment area covers 604 km². The source is located in the Žumberak Mountains southwest of Zagreb . The river is directed eastwards, passes the most southwestern Zagreb district Brezovica and the south of the city of Velika Gorica in the course of the Save-Odra-Save Canal , then turns to the south-east and then flows largely parallel to the Save . On the northwestern outskirts of the city of Sisak , the Odra flows into the Kupa River , a few kilometers before this river flows into the Save.
The upper reaches of the Odra was considerably straightened when the 32 km long Save-Odra-Save Canal was built as a flood channel for the Save south of Zagreb.
