Occurrence
The beetles are found in large parts of Europe . They are common, especially in the south.
Way of life
The adults are very good fliers and feed on pollen . They usually sit on the sunlit forest edges on flowering shrubs and meadow flowers. The larvae eat dry stems and roots of herbaceous plants in which they develop. They pupate in the ground and hibernate before hatching as beetles in early summer.
