In the east there is the neighboring community of Mühlheim am Main and in the west there are some allotment gardens.

Emergence

The new location An den Eichen (bottom right)

On May 20, 1999 the city of Offenbach decided to dissolve the Lohwald area, which had become a social hotspot. The houses were demolished and the residents were distributed to other parts of the city. The last families moved in July 2003. The sewer pipes were laid in February 2007 and road construction began in March of the same year. In the meantime, the development of the site for the construction of single-family houses with a new street layout by the city's own development and development company has been completed.

The location was initially to be given the name Waldheim-Süd and extends over 16.8 hectares. In the meantime, the planned name Waldheim-Süd has now become An den Eichen .

In the new development area, mainly two-storey detached houses are being built in row houses. Up to 1200 people should find a new home in around 480 residential units.

Around 650 people now live in the around 220 newly built residential units. The urban planning draft of the Office for Urban Planning, Traffic and Construction Management provides for a total of 110 developed plots in the future, on which around 175 residential units for a further 400 to 500 people can be built.
