Westermost Rough is an offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom in the North Sea . The wind farm has an electrical output of 210 megawatts and can supply over 150,000 households with electricity. Its standard work capacity is more than 800 GWh per year. It is located five miles off the coast of Holderness .
construction
The first foundation was installed in February 2014. The wind farm went into operation in May 2015.
technology
Westermost Rough was the first offshore wind farm to use 6-megawatt wind turbines with 75-meter-long rotor blades. 35 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 were installed. The systems are 177 meters high up to the tip of the blade. The monopiles used have a diameter of 6.5 meters and a weight of up to 800 tons.

The wind farm is a joint venture owned by DONG Energy (50%), Marubeni Corporation (25%) and the UK Green Investment Bank (25%).
