Ofu (also: Ofe ) is an inhabited island in the Tongan archipelago of Vavaʻu . In 2008 the island had 161 residents
geography
Ofu is located south of the main island of Vavaʻu as a continuation of the islands of ʻOloʻua and Mafana . In the east there is a wide reef fringe with the islands of Kenutu , Lolo and Umuna . The place of the same name is located on the west side of the roughly sickle-shaped island.
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vava'u group, Ofu is occasionally hit by cyclones .
