The Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge is a suspension bridge on the border between Canada and the United States . It connects Ogdensburg in the state of New York with Johnstown in the Leeds and Grenville United Counties in the province of Ontario . The part of the name Prescott refers to the place Prescott , seven kilometers southwest of Johnstown. The toll bridge, completed in 1960, spans the St. Lawrence River and the St. Lawrence Seaway , its mean span is 350.75 meters.
On the Canadian side, the bridge leads to Highway 16, a short expressway that intersects with Highway 401 , Canada's main highway, and merges with Highway 416 towards Ottawa . On the American side, the bridge leads to New York State Route 812 in the direction of Lowville in Lewis County .
