Ogdensburg is a city in St. Lawrence County in the north of the US state New York with 11,128 inhabitants (2010 census) . It was named after the landowner Samuel Ogden.
The city lies on the Saint Lawrence River on the border with Canada .
Ogdensburg also has the only US port on the St. Lorenz River, and an international airport is located south of the city center. The Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge connects the United States with Canada.
Ogdensburg is the seat of the diocese of Ogdensburg .
With the Ogdensburg Agreement of 1940, a permanent joint defense council USA-Canada was established.
