The Ogoki Reservoir is a reservoir on the Ogoki River in the Thunder Bay District in the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Waboose Dam ( ⊙ ) was built on the Ogoki River in the 1930s and 1940s with the intention of diverting the water from the Upper Ogoki River to Lake Nipigo and Lake Superior so that the local hydropower plants could use additional amounts of water. When it was completed in 1943, the Ogoki Reservoir was created. The elongated reservoir has a length of 50 km and a water surface of 137 km². It lies at an altitude of 316 m . Most of the water now flows over the Mojikit Channel to the adjacent Mojikit Lake to the south . On its southeastern bank is the Summit Control Dam , which regulates the outflow of the water over the Little Jackfish River to the southern Nipigonsee.
The Ogoki Reservoir is a popular destination for fishing tourists. Due to the lack of access roads, the lake is usually reached by seaplane. The following types of fish are caught in the reservoir: eyeglasses , pike and sea sturgeon .
