Life

The cartoonist published his first comic in 1995 with the pornographic ( hentai ) short story September Kiss . This appeared in the manga magazine Manga Hot Milk , which is aimed at an adult readership and specializes in erotic mangas. More hentai manga from the draftsman's pen followed. Under the title Silky Whip , some of the short stories he wrote at that time have been published in the USA by Eros Comix and via this detour, as Die Seidenpeitsche , also appeared censored in Germany from 2000 to 2001. For example, one of the stories in The Silk Whip takes place in Japan in 1924 and describes a noble young woman who, because her father is heavily in debt, is given to a man who wants to deflower her.

1997 started Oh! Great to get your work in mainstream non-pornographic magazines with larger publishers with higher circulation. Until 2011, the more than 4,000-page manga series Tenjo Tenge drew for the Ultra Jump magazine of the Shūeisha publishing house. In it, the illustrator tells of two young people who come to a school and are defeated there in a fight by a peer. In addition to many fight scenes, the manga also has a high proportion of " fan service ". Tenjo Tenge was the breakthrough for Oh! Great.

After he had designed the character design for the anime series Himiko-Den and drawn a manga based on this, he published his first comic from 1999 to 2000 in the Shōnen Magazine of the Kōdansha publishing house , Majin Devil, which consists of around 450 pages in two anthologies , the most successful Japanese manga magazine at the time , alongside Shōnen Jump . Although Shōnen Magazine is primarily aimed at a male target group in elementary and middle school age, Majin Devil contains brutal scenes of violence. From 2002 to 2012 Oh! Great again a manga for Shōnen Magazine , Air Gear , about teenagers who are fascinated by a sport similar to inline skating . Air Gear , which brought the illustrator the Kodansha Manga Prize in 2006 , has over 6,000 pages and, like Tenjo Tenge , was implemented as an anime television series.

In December 2012, he started with the author Ōtarō Maijo a new series, Bioorg Trinity , in his magazine Ultra Jump the Shueisha -Verlags.

With the exception of Die Seidenpeitsche , all of his works that have been translated into German, Burn-Up Excess & W , Tenjo Tenge , Himiko-Den and Majin Devil , have so far been published by Planet Manga . The first volume by Majin Devil is indexed in Germany .
