Oh Se-hoon (born January 4, 1961 in Seoul ) is a South Korean politician of the conservative Saenuri Party and was mayor of the capital Seoul from 2006 to 2011.

biography

He studied at Korea University , where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 1983 , a Master of Laws (Commercial Law) in 1990 and a Doctor of Laws in 1999 . In the general election in June 2000, Oh won a seat in the South Korean parliament . In the elections on May 31, 2006 , he was elected mayor as a candidate for the Hannara-dang (Great National Party) (GNP) with 61.6% of the vote. Previously, he was a lecturer at Sookmyung Women's University and a lawyer.

Although Oh was re-elected mayor for a second term in 2010, he resigned from office in August 2011. He justified the step with the failure of his initiative to abolish free lunch for all students in the city, regardless of the income of the parents, since a referendum on this did not achieve the necessary turnout. Park Won-soon was elected as his successor in the new elections in October .

Personal

Oh Se-hoon is married and has two daughters.
