The Ohliger Zug was an iron ore mine between Biersdorf ( Daaden ) and Niederdreisbach in the Altenkirchen district .

history

On July 13, 1868, the mining of iron ore began on Betzdorfer Strasse. Just four years later, in 1872, civil engineering was started. The 4 × 2 m large shaft later had a depth of 286 m. In 1880 around 11,000 t of brown iron stone and 16,000 t of spate iron stone were mined. Five years later, production fell to a total of 18,995 t of iron ore. In 1907 the business was closed due to unexplored minable deposits. The total production is 550,000 t of iron ore.

In 1910 the mine consolidated with the nearby Vereinigung , Einheit and Kniffer pits . The unit existed since 1851 and belonged to Füssenberg since 1906 ; 21,230 t of iron ore and a total of 565,474 t of iron ore were mined here in 1890. In 1922/23, examinations for ore deposits were carried out from the Herdorf Friedrich Wilhelm mine under the Ohliger Zug , and in 1934 from Füssenberg . However, these were negative.
