Location of the local community Niederdreisbach in the district of Altenkirchen (Westerwald) | ||
Niederdreisbach is a municipality in the Altenkirchen (Westerwald) district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Daaden-Herdorf .
Geographical location
The local community is located in the Daadetal at the confluence of the Dreisbach in the Daadenbach between Schutzbach in the west and Biersdorf ( Daaden ) in the southeast; Weitefeld is in the south .
history
The origins of the place lie in the migrations of the Celts who looked for iron ore deposits in today's Dreisbachtal . The place name is derived from the Celtic name of the stream dreisafa when it was converted into Dreisbach. It was not until the 12th and 13th centuries that the valley was permanently settled when the Dreisbachtal was drained, cleared and made arable and the first farms were built. The core settlement of Niederdreißbach , as it was written until the 18th century, was a single courtyard in a block corridor built in the late Middle Ages . A document from 1252, in which a Herbord von Dreisbach was mentioned, confirms this beginning of the settlement, which has been preserved in the old field name “Weijre Horstatt” (between the corridors “In der Bruchwies” and “In der Bitze”).
Niederdreisbach belonged to the county of Sayn-Altenkirchen and the parish of Daaden until 1806 . The county of Sayn-Altenkirchen came to Prussia by inheritance in 1791 and was awarded to the Principality of Nassau-Usingen in 1803 in the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss . In 1806 the two Nassau princes joined the Napoleonic Rhine Confederation , so that from 1806 the region belonged to the Duchy of Nassau . A participant in the Congress of Vienna made (1815) agreements, the territory of the former saynischen counties was to the Kingdom of Prussia ceded .
Under the Prussian administration, Niederdreisbach was assigned to the Daaden mayor's office in the newly established Altenkirchen district ( Koblenz district ), which belonged to the Rhine province from 1822 onwards.
