coat of arms

On November 29, 2007, the local council approved the introduction of the coat of arms. A design by Rolf-Dieter Rötzel was the basis for the coat of arms, which was examined by the Koblenz state archive in 2009 and approved by the Altenkirchen district administration. It is divided into two fields by a left-angled blue-silver wavy bar. The Irserbach water body, which characterizes the Niederirsen community, is represented by the wavy bar. In the upper coat of arms, the heraldic animal of the former County of Sayn appears as a left-turning, blue-tongued and blue-armored golden leopard lion on a red background, which holds a mill wheel and thus establishes a reference to the former mill on the Irsenbach. Two fir trees and a sheaf are embedded in the lower coat of arms up to the level of the corrugated strip. The firs symbolize the two localities Niederirsen and Ückertseifen, which belong to the local community Niederirsen, as well as the existing forests, the sheaf of agriculture.
