coat of arms

The coat of arms is divided obliquely to the left by silver and blue. In the upper area there is a red four-leaf clover, at the bottom there is a silver cornucopia.

The shamrock or Mauritius cross indicates the patronage of St. Mauritius and thus the historical importance of the place in the Middle Ages. The Mauritius cross has been in use as a symbol in the representation of Mauritius, on coats of arms and places associated with it since the Middle Ages. The old church of St. Mauritius, the tower of which has been preserved at today's Protestant church, was probably a branch church of Haiger in the 11th century, later a parish church. It is the oldest building in Niederfischbach.

The colors silver and red correspond to the coat of arms of the Elector of Trier , the former sovereign: a continuous red cross in silver.

The upright silver horn of plenty is taken from the Fischbacher Erstlingstaler from 1750. It relates to the silver finds and the historical importance of mining in the community.

The blue color of the coat of arms indicates the origin of the name Niederfischbach “Vispe”, in which the word “ apa ” for water, small stream, is contained in the suffix “-pe”. This name is evidence of the old age of the place, as it must come from a time when the word "apa" and not "Bach" was in use.

(According to W. Arnold and J. Heinzeling, the "apa" locations in our homeland were founded before 500 AD, according to L. Bald even before our era. B. Solbach)
