Franz Schwarz (politician)

Franz Schwarz (born September 11, 1940 in Niederlindewiese , Freiwaldau district ; † June 25, 2017 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After primary school, Schwarz completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter. He then attended evening school and a technical school and worked as an engineer from 1964 to 1980. Then he was DGB chairman of the Altenkirchen district . Schwarz is married and has one child.

politics

Schwarz joined the SPD in 1975. In 1984 he was elected to the local council and in 1994 he was elected first alderman of Niederfischbach . In 1999 and 2004 he ran unsuccessfully in the Niederfischbach mayor elections. In 1987 he was elected as a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, to which he belonged for almost four legislative periods until 2006. In the state parliament he was deputy chairman of the committee for economy and transport.

Until July 9, 2009, Schwarz was a member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Altenkirchen .
