history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1348 and until 1775 it was subordinate to the four-lordship of the Einrich . Since 1806 it belonged to the Duchy of Nassau . Ecclesiastically Mittelfischbach belonged to the parish of Klingelbach. There were three Fischbach up to 1853: Oberfischbach , Mittelfischbach and Niederfischbach. Niederfischbach disappeared in 1853 when all residents emigrated to America. In 1866 Nassau and with it Mittelfischbach were annexed by Prussia . Mittelfischbach has been part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 . In 1972, as part of an administrative reform, the Verbandgemeinde Katzenelnbogen was formed , to which the local community Mittelfischbach belonged until 2019 and which then became part of the Verbandsgemeinde Aar-Einrich.
