Winterwerb is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the association of Nastaetten .

geography

Winterwerb is located in the western Hintertaunus of the Middle Rhine Taunus . The agriculturally used Miehlener Grund extends east of Winterwerb.

history

Winterwerb was first mentioned in a document in 1353 under the name "Wynterburn".

Up to the Nastätter recession in 1775, the place belonged to the quadrilateral court on the Einrich (Hessisches Quartier) and came under the sole rule of Hessen-Kassel due to a division . From 1806 to 1813, the region and thus also winter acquisition was under French administration ( pays réservé ). In 1816 the place came into the possession of the Duchy of Nassau ( Amt Braubach ), which was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia in 1866 as a result of the so-called German War .

After the First World War , Winterwerb was occupied until the French withdrew in 1929, and after the Second World War it was also in the French zone of occupation .

Since 1946 the place has been part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .
