Geographical location

The place Mielle is located on the left bank of the Lahn about four kilometers southwest of Bad Ems .

history

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1290; the name is derived from mill . In 1823 the village became an independent municipality. The Edelhoff KG roof tile factory was founded in 1892 .

As part of the municipal reorganization of Rhineland-Palatinate, the local community of Mialen was assigned to the Bad Ems community in 1972 and became part of the new Bad Ems-Nassau community in 2019 .

The municipal council in Mialen consists of eight council members, who were elected by a majority vote in the municipal elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.

Heiner Eggerath (independent) is the local mayor of Mialen. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, the previous incumbent and only candidate Hans Hermann Hanisch did not receive a majority. A repeat election therefore had to be scheduled. On September 1, 2019, Heiner Eggerath was elected with 88.75% of the vote.

Partner municipality

On July 7, 1990, a partnership with the municipality of Kälberfeld in the Wartburg district in Thuringia was concluded. In 1996, Kälberfeld became part of the municipality of Hörselberg and through the merger of the municipalities of Hörselberg and Behringen to form the municipality of Hörselberg-Hainich on December 1, 2007, it became part of the municipality of Hörselberg-Hainich.
