Gutenacker is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the municipality of Aar-Einrich . The village of Gutenacker is built around a basalt rock.
geography
Gutenacker is located in the western Hintertaunus on the Einrich the slightly lower north-western part of the Taunus , in the Nassau Nature Park about eight kilometers east of the city of Nassau . In the north and west, the Lahn forms the municipal boundary .
Gutenacker also includes the Laurenburg station ( Lahntalbahn ), Bahnhaus, Häuserhof, Justus-Mühle, Lindenhof and Rupbach (part) residential areas .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1197 as a Katzenelnbogisches village. It was given as a fief to one of their followers, the Lords of Allendorf, by the Count von Katzenelnbogen . He lived in Gutenacker in a castle-like building next to the highest point. When the Counts died out in 1479, the village came to the Landgraves of Hesse and later the Duchy of Nassau . Nassau, and with him Gutenacker, was annexed by Prussia in 1866 . Gutenacker has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 . In 1972, in the course of the Rhineland-Palatinate "functional and territorial reform", the community of Katzenelnbogen was formed, to which the local community of Gutenacker belonged until 2019 and which then became part of the community of Aar-Einrich.

Municipal council
The municipal council in Gutenacker consists of eight council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman. The eight seats are divided between two groups of voters .

Udo Meister is the local mayor of Gutenacker. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was re-elected with 80.53% of the vote.
Attractions
The so-called Kipp - a basalt rock in the middle of the village - used to be a basalt quarry. There was a crusher there that was used to grind the basalt, it was then transported by cable car to the Rupbach and from there by train to the customers.
