Ebertshausen is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the municipality of Aar-Einrich .
geography
The place is in the western Hintertaunus in the landscape of the Einrich , near Katzenelnbogen. The highest point near Berghausen is the Ergenstein at 420 meters above sea level .
Neighboring towns are Klingelbach (southwest) and Schönborn (north).
history
Ebertshausen was first mentioned in a document in 1150 under the name Ebrethishusen . Until 1479 the place was owned by the Counts of Katzenelnbogen . It then came to Hessen-Kassel by inheritance . Since 1806 the place belonged to the Duchy of Nassau . In 1825 the manor in Ebertshausen was sold by the then owner, Hospital Gronau , and passed into private ownership. In 1866 Nassau and with it Ebertshausen were annexed by Prussia . Ebertshausen has been part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 . In 1972, as part of an administrative reform, the Verbandgemeinde Katzenelnbogen was formed, to which the local community Ebertshausen belonged until 2019 and which then became part of the Verbandsgemeinde Aar-Einrich.
