Fachbach is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Bad Ems-Nassau community .

geography

The place is located directly on the Lahn near Lahn - kilometer 128, on the border between Taunus and Westerwald .

House Kutting, Unteres and Oberes Weinberghaus, Schleusenhaus, Insel Oberau and Fachbacher Stollen are run as parts of the municipality. The residential space designations for the previous residential spaces Haus Wieland, Haus Wirz and Auf der Oberau were deleted by a municipal council resolution of February 27, 2007.

history

The brook, from which Fachbach got its name, was mentioned as early as 959, the place itself, however, not until 1371.

Although Fachbach does not have a church, but is part of the parish Nievern -Fachbach- Miellen .

The local mayor of Fachbach is Dieter Görg (SPD). In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was re-elected with 63.31% of the vote.

Culture and sights

The Nieverner Hütte , an ironworks on the Fachbacher Insel Oberau, which formerly belonged to Nievern , is a recognized industrial monument . In the 1960s and 1970s, the island of Oberau housed the Gustav Fudickar "Schlafwohl" upholstered furniture and mattress factory (founded in 1885). The Fudickar upholstered furniture and mattress factory built the Fachbach district of Auf der Oberau and owned patents for special spring mattresses. Today the buildings on the island of Oberau are used by various small businesses.

The community is located on the B 260 , also called "Bäderstraße", which no longer leads through the town itself since the completion of the first section of the Bad Ems bypass. The connection by rail is provided by the Nievern stop of the Lahntalbahn ( KBS 625 ) on the opposite side of the Lahn.

Bike trails

Lead through Fachbach:

• The German Limes Cycle Route follows the Upper German-Raetian Limes over 818 km from Bad Hönningen on the Rhine to Regensburg on the Danube .
• The Lahntal cycle path is 245 km long and leads from the source of the Lahn at the Lahnkopf near Netphen in Siegerland to the confluence of the Lahn and the Rhine in Lahnstein .
