geography

Attenhausen is located in the Taunus (western Hintertaunus ) on a hill above the Dörsbach valley . Attenhausen also includes the Dörsbachtal, Bilohof and Fernblick residential areas .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1142 under the name Hattenhausen as an endowment of the Arnstein Abbey . From 1355 it belonged to the " Vierherrischen ", ie the rule of four lords over the facility . From 1806 the place was part of the Duchy of Nassau , which was annexed by Prussia in 1866 . Since 1946 the place has been part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The population developed as follows in the 19th and 20th centuries: 1843: 445 inhabitants, 1927: 497 inhabitants, 1964: 441 inhabitants.
