Endlichhofen is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the association of Nastaetten .
geography
The place is located in the Taunus in the so-called Blue Ländchen west of Nastätten . Endlichhofen also includes the Endlichhofer Höhe settlement.
history
Endlichhofen was first mentioned in a document in 1296. The wording of this document reads: "In 1296 King Adolff gave the Closter 6 Malter Korn, 6 Malter Habern 6 solidos denarium Coloniensium annually to be received at Endlichhofen until replacement."
The place is mentioned in documents in 1361 as Endelengebe , 1411 as Endelingobin and 1526 as Endlichhofen and was a county-free place that belonged to the Miehlen court .
After the Congress of Vienna in 1815, the place came to the Duchy of Nassau and after the German War in 1866 to Prussia, where it was part of the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau . After the First World War , Endlichhofen was occupied until the French withdrew in 1929; after the Second World War , it also belonged to the French occupation zone . In 1946 the place came to the then newly founded state of Rhineland-Palatinate . Endlichhofen has been a member of the Nastätten community since 1972.

Municipal council
The local council in Endlichhofen consists of six council members, who were elected in a majority vote in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.

Hartmut Christ is the local mayor of Endlichhofen. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, there were no applicants. In this case, the municipal code provides for an election by the municipal council, which took place unanimously on June 28, 2019. Christ is the successor to Carmen Carola Hartung, who did not run again.

- Natural monument thick oak
On the outskirts of the community of Endlichhofen, directly on the district road 80, stands the "Big Oak", often called "Beautiful Oak". It is a natural monument of special rank ( location ). The oak has a chest height circumference of 7.55 m (2014) and a height of 18 m. It is an English oak (Quercus pendunculata) , the age of which is estimated according to various sources to be 350 to 560 years. It is believed, however, that it was planted here as early as the Reformation, almost a century before the outbreak of the Thirty Years War. In several specialist books it is depicted and described as "one of the most beautiful oaks in Germany".
