Rhineland-Palatinate

The wide headwaters of the Irserbach are located in Rhineland-Palatinate north of the watershed of the Westerwald , on which the B8 runs. Sources arise at Birnbach and Oberirsen-Marenbach, they flow to the main stream in Oberirsen and Oberirsen-Rimbach.

North Rhine-Westphalia

In Irsen , water from Ölsen flows into the brook in addition to the Kuchhausen brook . In Irsen there is still an old, functional mill, the Mittelirser Mühle , which is operated by a branched mill ditch .

From Irsen the valley of the Irser Bach forms the border between Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia until shortly before the Imhausen quarry . In addition to tributaries from Niederirsen and the Kocherscheider Bach , the Niederleuscheider Bach flows into Ehrenhausen along the L 312 . This state road also continues along the valley of the Irserbach. In Windeck- Imhausen , where the Löschbach still flows in, the Irserbach flows into the Sieg.

natural reserve
