Mayor's office in Daaden

The mayor Daaden was one of the nine Prussian mayors , in which the formed 1816 Altenkirchen in the administrative district of Coblenz was divided administratively. To the administrative district of the mayor's office belonged twelve communities, in which in 1817 a total of 3,591 inhabitants lived. The mayor's office was renamed Amt Daaden in 1927 .

According to statistics from the years 1817, 1843 and 1861, the following municipalities and localities belonged to the mayorry:

• Biersdorf with the Biersdorfer Eisenhütte (today part of Daaden)
• Daaden , Kirchdorf with the hamlet of Daaderhütten, a copper mine and the Daadener Mühle
• Derschen with the Derschener mill
• Emmerzhausen
• Friedewald with the Friedewalder Mühle
• Herdorf with the hamlet of Seelenberg and the Herdorf and Seelenberger ironworks
• Mauden with the stone mill
• Niederdreisbach with the Niederdreisbach ironworks
• Nisterberg with the Nisterberger mill
• Oberdreisbach (today part of Weitefeld)
• Schutzbach
• Weitefeld with the Weitefeld mill

The localities administered by the Daaden mayor's office belonged without exception to the County of Sayn-Altenkirchen until 1791 and already formed a coherent administrative and judicial district as the Friedewald office and the Daaden parish during the Saynian period . Exceptions to this were Herdorf and Schutzbach , each of which only partially belonged to the Friedewald office and the Daaden parish. The other part of the two villages belonged to the Freusburg office , Herdorf to the Kirchen parish and Schutzbach to the Gebhardshain parish . The parishes as a "pastoral unit" were also secular administrative units in the county, they exercised the lower jurisdiction . In terms of the church, the parishes in the County of Altenkirchen belonged to the Reformed denomination since the beginning of the 17th century ; later, Lutheran teaching was also allowed.

Sayn-Altenkirchen and thus the area of the later mayor Daaden came in 1791 in inheritance under Prussian rule and was 1803 Reichsdeputationshauptschluss the Principality of Nassau-Usingen awarded the 1806 Nassau Duchy came up. The territory of Sayn-Altenkirchen was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 at the Congress of Vienna and on the basis of a treaty concluded between Nassau and Prussia .

The Daaden mayor's office, like all mayor's offices in the Rhine Province , was renamed “Amt Daaden” in 1927. In 1955 the municipality of Herdorf was spun off and made an official municipality. There were no further changes related to the territory of the Daaden Office until the formation of the Daaden Association in 1968.
