Oiro

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oiro is a punk band from Düsseldorf that was founded in 2001. The band consists of Jonny Bauer (vocals), Akki, Bauer Jonny (both guitar), Vander (bass) and Tomo_01 (drums). Oiro play German-speaking punk, the lyrics of which are based on Hamburg bands such as Die Goldenen Zitronen , Dackelblut , Kommando Sonne-nmilch but also strongly on the Wipers . This parallel also led to a guest appearance by the Kommando-Sonne-nmilch singer, Jens Rachut , on the first album, which was released in 2005.

In 2008, Oiro released a pub crawl DVD containing two short films and video clips for three Oiro songs. Since 2009, all Oiro members have been releasing solo singles at Flight13 every three months. With the motivation that the band members can make the music they always wanted to make, the first two records in this series by Tomo_01 and Jonny Bauer were released. The band offers their songs up to and including the past tube on their homepage for free download.
