Ola Podrida is an American indie rock band that was formed in Austin , Texas in 2006 .
history
Ola Podrida began as a project by film composer David Wingo. After moving to New York in 2006, Ola Podrida became a live band made up of four of his oldest friends from his home in Texas. While in New York, the stage was shared with bands like Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Blitzen Trapper, and She & Him. The self-titled debut album was released on April 6, 2007 by the Hamburg indie label Grand Hotel van Cleef for the German market. Wingo moved back to Austin in 2009 and Ola Podrida has since grown into a full four-piece band with Matt Clark, David Hobizal and Colin Swietek. The second album Belly Of The Lion was released on November 27, 2009 on the Western Vinyl label for the German-speaking market. In 2009 the song Lost And Found and in 2011 the song Run Off The Road , both from the debut album, found its way into the US sitcom How I Met Your Mother as a soundtrack .
