Olaf Gericke

Olaf Gericke (* 1966 in Münster ) is a German local politician ( CDU ) and since 2006 district administrator of the Warendorf district in eastern Münsterland .

Education and professional career

After graduating from high school in 1986, Olaf Gericke completed his military service in Goslar and Delmenhorst . In 1987 he started to study law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University (WWU) in Münster, which he successfully completed in 1993. During his studies he was involved in student representatives and was, among other things, a public relations officer in the General Student Committee (AStA) of the University of Münster and chairman of the Christian Democratic Student Association (RCDS) .

In 1993, Olaf Gericke took over the correction assistance from Dieter Wyduckel at the chair for public law at the Law Faculty of the Technical University of Dresden . During this time he wrote a dissertation on the topic of possibilities and limits of dismantling legalization; A critical analysis of legislation and legislative doctrine .

He then gained professional experience, initially at the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and later in municipal supervision as a district councilor and personal advisor to the senior district director and later district administrator Wolfgang Kirsch ( CDU ) in the Warendorf district .

politics

On May 11, 2003, Olaf Gericke was elected full-time mayor of Greven . He held this office for three years until he was elected on September 17, 2006 as a candidate by the CDU and FDP for the full-time district administrator of the Warendorf district. He thus succeeded his former superior Wolfgang Kirsch (also CDU), who had changed to the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe (LWL) based in Münster as state director .

In the local elections on May 25, 2014, Olaf Gericke was confirmed in his office with 60.76% of the votes.

Olaf Gericke is married and has one son and one daughter.
