Olaf Schindler

Olaf Carsten Schindler (born January 17,  1969 in Kaiserslautern ) is a former German basketball player . During his career, the 2.03-meter-tall winger played for TV Langen and TVG Trier in the national basketball league .

career

In 1988 Schindler moved from Speyer to TV Langen and rose in his first season with the Hessians from the 2nd basketball league to the basketball league . Schindler stayed with the TVL only one year in the first division, in spring 1990 the relegation had to be accepted.

He left Langen for the USA , where he played and studied at Weber State University ( Utah ) in the 1990/91 season . For the 1991/92 season he was back in Langen, again they missed relegation. Schindler stayed in the Bundesliga, joining TVG Trier for the 1992/93 season . After a year in Trier, he worked at SG Braunschweig, BG Göttingen and the Portuguese club Seixal FC. From the end of November 1997, Schindler reinforced the second division USC Heidelberg , later he was still active at 1. FC Kaiserslautern and TSV Speyer.

National team

Schindler participated with the German junior national team in the 1987 World Cup and the 1988 European Championship. At the EC '88 he was the second best scorer of the German team with a point average of 10.7 behind Henrik Rödl .
