Olaf Steinbiß (born November 7, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Olaf Steinbiß was born on November 7, 1966 in Hamburg and graduated from the Johanneum School of Academics in 1987 . From 1987 to 1989 he was with the Navy in Bremerhaven and Kiel. From 1991 to 1996 Steinbiß studied law at the University of Hamburg and passed his first state examination in 1996 and his second state examination in 2001 after working for the SPD parliamentary group. From 1998 to 2000 he worked as a research assistant for the SPD parliamentary group in Hamburg. Olaf Steinbiß has been an independent lawyer since 2001, specializing in labor law.

Steinbiß he is a member of Altona 93 and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt . He is the father of two daughters.

In 1997 Steinbiß joined the SPD Hamburg and is active in the Harvestehude / Rotherbaum district. Since 2018 he has been chairman of the district and a member of the board of the SPD district Eimsbüttel.

On April 14, 2010, Olaf Steinbiß succeeded the deceased MP Stefan Schmitt in the Hamburg Parliament and was a member of it until the end of the legislative period in February 2011. In September of the same year he moved to the Hamburg parliament for Britta Ernst, who was leaving . In the 2015 state election, Steinbiß ran for position 19 on the SPD state list and successfully entered the state.

Since 2015 he has also been the spokesman for the constitution of the SPD parliamentary group. He is a member of the Constitution, Justice, Europe, Sport and Petitions Committees.

On February 23, 2020, Steinbiß again succeeded in entering the Hamburg Parliament .
