Old Road is a place in Saint Mary's Parish on the island of Antigua , in the state of Antigua and Barbuda .

Location and landscape

Old Road Village is located on the south coast of the island and is the main town of the southwest. It is separated from the rest of the island by the Shekerley Mountains. Mount Obama (ex Boggy Peak, 402 m ), the highest mountain in Antigua, stands above the place .

The place has around 1100 inhabitants. Old Road is divided into Old Road-West towards Cades Bay , Old Road-Central , Old Road-North at the foot of the mountain, Old Road-Morris Bay on Morris Bay and Grace Bay and OldRoad- Claremont on Carlisle Bay and in the northeast .

Economy and Infrastructure

With the inland the place is connected by the Fig Tree Drive over the district Claremont through the Shekerleys to Swetes , along the coast a road leads to Bolands on the west coast. After Falmouth in the East is no road to the coast. In the west of the city the road leads to Mount Obama.

The place has an elementary school and a church.

Old Road is a tourist resort. The luxury hotel Carlisle Bay is located in Claremont , and the Curtain Bluff Hotel between Morris and Grace Bay
