Mount Obama (renamed in 2009, previously Boggy Peak ) is the remainder of a volcanic crater in the Shekerley Mountains and at the same time the highest point of the Caribbean island state of Antigua and Barbuda at 402 meters. It is located in the southwest of the island of Antigua . However, it is not possible to climb the summit, as the upper region of Boggy Peak is a restricted zone for a telecommunications station. From the summit there is a view of the surrounding islands of Montserrat and Guadeloupe .

Renamed Mount Obama

In a press release dated November 5, 2008, the country's Prime Minister Winston Baldwin Spencer announced the renaming of Boggy Peak to Mount Obama in honor of US President Barack Obama . The name change took place on August 4, 2009.
