Oldfjällen ( The Olden Mountains ) is a Swedish mountain range on the border between Norway and Sweden . It is part of the Scandinavian Mountains ( Fjäll ). The mountains are located in northern Offerdal in the municipality of Krokom in the province of Jämtland County .
The highest mountain in Oldfjällen is Makkene ( 1266 m above sea level ), close to the Norwegian border. Other mountains are Oldklumpen ( 879 m ), Lappluvan ( South Sami : Goeptelssjienie , 1058 m ), Himmelsraften ( South Sami : Skaeddrie , 1211 m ) and Stuore-Tjåure ( 1229 m ).
In the inhabited parts of the Oldfjällen mountains there since the early Middle Ages a Sami population, especially in the villages Jänsmässholmen , Olden and Frankrike .
