Olegario González de Cardedal
Olegario González de Cardedal (born October 2, 1934 in Lastra del Cano, district of Santiago de Tormes , province of Avila ) is a Spanish Catholic theologian and priest.
Life
González de Cardedal first studied in Ávila, where he was ordained a priest in 1959. Then he continued his studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , which he graduated in 1964.
González de Cardedal was offered a chair at the Pontifical University of Salamanca . In this position he took part in the Second Vatican Council . He also became a member of the Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Políticas in Madrid.
In 2011 he received the "Joseph Ratzinger Foundation - Pope Benedict XVI." awarded Joseph Ratzinger Prize .
